Behavioral health
Here at Meel Pediatrics, we believe your child’s mental/emotional health is just as important as their
physical health. We offer integrated behavioral health services within our practice.
What is Integrated Behavioral Health?
Integrated Behavioral Health focuses on addressing the emotional health needs of the patient along with the physical health of the patient.
Integrated Behavioral Health focuses on addressing the emotional health needs of the patient along with the physical health of the patient. Some common concerns a behavioral health provider might assist patients and their families on are:
● Managing Anxiety/Depression/ADHD symptoms
● Positive parenting techniques to reduce conflict
● Managing behavioral concerns
● Physical health concerns, such as managing diabetes/sleep issues/asthma
● Addressing life transitions
The Integrated Behavioral Consultant works alongside your Primary Care provider to support you or your child to promote and develop health habits to live a long and successful life.
How does Integrated Behavioral Health work at Meel Pediatrics?
If you feel that you or your child would benefit from a consultation with our Behavioral Health
Consultant (BHC), you can speak to your provider directly or call the office to schedule an appointment.
Additionally, you or your child’s provider may invite the BHC into your child’s next well visit if they believe it would be beneficial. The BHC will conduct a brief assessment and work with you on developing a plan to address your concerns. Treatment of Behavioral Integrated care may range from one to several visits depending on the severity of the situation and can act as a bridge to long term care, if needed, which can include assisting you and your child in accessing community resources/specialized care.
